Here are Biscit, we are avid supporters of enabling the next generation of talent within our region. As members of the local business community – and as a Hunter-based business servicing clients across NSW, Australia and internationally – we know first-hand how important it is to support and nurture those coming through their studies and early careers, so that success within the region can continue well into the future.
Last year, we hosted students from the University of Newcastle as part of the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) component of their degrees. The program saw students Jade Stevens, James Symonds and Ryan Jobse work with the team for nine months to gain practical, hands-on experience working within the business and with the various technology solutions and services we provide.
As part of their time with the team, Jade and James, who were brought in to gain experience in relation to their video production course, were able to develop a simple explainer video for our Epicor Mfg Wireless Warehouse (EMWW) solution – the warehouse management system designed and built by Biscit for the Epicor ERP system. EMWW is being used by companies all over the world, so the students were challenged to create something that would quickly highlight the benefits of the application. Check out their handiwork below.
Considering Jade and James had the very challenging task of commencing this project in March, last year right when our region went into isolation, getting to understand our business and solutions can’t have been an easy feat.
Ryan worked with our Development team and created scheduling angular component that can be leveraged for our Rental Management System in future. He was great to work with and took on feedback well to deliver a really good component.
We wish Jade, James and Ryan the very best with their studies and their future careers.
